The NCC had a great Christmas and end to 2024 with three major events
Our annual Christmas Party and Prize Draw, on Saturday 14 December, drew the crowds again and there were dozens of prizes in the “draw to end all draws”. First prize, a case of Majestic wine, went to Pete Reynolds; second prize, a £50 voucher from Perrins Butchers, went to Richard Mead, and third prize, a voucher from the Church Street Deli, was won by Bob Wailling.
“Brilliant night, plenty of good food, the beers are always well worth trying and the staff were, as usual on top form. Thanks to all involved. Best Christmas party this year,” commented Brian Bowling.”
“It was a terrific party and guests owe a huge debt to the organisers and helpers. The Club is at its best on occasions like that. It bodes well for a prosperous 2025,” added Ed Marriage.
Prizes were donated by: Abberton Autos, Bob Wailling, Colchester Brewery, David Linscott, Perrins, Church Street Deli, Hazel Linscott, John Davey, John Melville, Mo Campbell, Irene Samson, and Quinta Raddison.
Food was provided and prepared by: Bob Wailling, Neil and Lindsey Heward, John “curried pasty” Brown.
Ten days later, Members, guests and friends brought a great atmosphere to Christmas Eve, which continued almost until Santa got stuck in the chimney.
New Year’s Eve also saw a healthy number of revellers, with free NCC punch served to all-comers. The music was provided by Steve Jones.
“It was a great end to what has been a very good year for the Club in terms of the number of events organised, support by the Membership and seeing new faces in the Club. We hope to do even better in 2025,” said Vice Chairman, Bob Wailling.
