A lot of Members enjoy a game of golf so we wondered … how about forming an NCC Golf Society? Although we will take our time on the fairways seriously, there will also be an emphasis on fun and as a way of bringing together like-minded individuals.
We propose:
- Matches will be played on courses close to Colchester – no more than 45 minutes’ drive from the NCC – which Society members aren’t necessarily members of.
- Matches to be played once a month and to be played March to June inclusive and August to October inclusive. July to be excluded because of the NCC Golf Day and summer holidays.
- A trophy to be presented to the best player over the course of the season.
- Members who prefer to play occasionally rather than sign up to the Society can do so. Guests of Members will be encouraged.
- The format will be stableford.
- There will be a maximum handicap of 28 for each event.
- Prizes will be presented for each event, but you will have to attend the prize-giving to collect.
Costs
- To be kept to a minimum, but there would be a joining fee to help cover costs. This fee would be dependent on the number of members.
- Participants would also (obviously) have to pay the green fee.
