Way back in 1976 John Miles first sang about music being his first love. And that’s a sentiment the North Countrymen’s Club wholeheartedly concurs with! So much so, we hold a growing number of “gigs” each year.
This year, our first gig is on Saturday 12 April when Wyldfolk, who will be making their Club debut, will be performing an evening of upbeat acoustic covers. Wyldfolk’s NCC bow is followed a fortnight later – Saturday 26 April – with an appearance of our much-loved House Blues Band, who have been playing for us for a number of years and whose enduring excellence continues to draw the crowds,
We also have live music, from the 1940s, as part of our VE Day 80th celebrations on Saturday 10 May.
June sees Julia Sings make her debut at the Club on Saturday 14 June. Julia provides a wide range of genres from pop, soul, blues, jazz, funk, rock and reggae as a solo act, and in pop duos, and in Jazz/Funk/Soul line-ups. For more information, see https://juliasings.co.uk/
There is a break for summer but we are looking at organising a gig in July or August, so watch this space.
The House Blues Band performs for us again on Saturday 6 September and on Saturday 29 November Sax and the Voice, who twice brought down the house last year, are back as we begin the countdown to Christmas.
