In keeping with Club tradition, we will be remembering the service and sacrifice of the British and Commonwealth soldiers, sailors, airmen and women, together with members of the emergency services and civilians on Remembrance Sunday.
NCC President John Davey will open the Club at 10.30am for those that may be unable to attend the Act of Remembrance in town but would like to watch the Cenotaph event with like-minded people. After the Remembrance Service and parade through the City, the Club welcomes all Members to the bar where a warming ‘wee nippy’ will be offered. Members are encouraged to bring guests, particularly any Veterans or serving personnel of our Armed Forces, emergency services, and associated organisations.
This year will give us the opportunity to note the 80th anniversaries of both D Day and Market Garden (Arnhem). We hope that as many Members as possible will join us, particularly our Veterans. The joint Masters of Ceremony will be our President, John Davey, and Tony Barton, who will recall some of the outstanding events of the two battles. There will be a buffet, courtesy of David and Hazel Linscott, and a raffle (tickets will be on sale from behind the bar).
