The hottest, driest summer on record. So, it was inevitable that it would rain on Saturday – the day of the NCC’s annual barbeque.
However, the weather Gods couldn’t defeat the hardy souls of the North Countrymen’s Club and Members and guests turned out in their numbers and were rewarded for their resilience with an excellent day and fine food.
Despite the weather – we even sold a jug or two of Pimms – the event was far more successful than last year and is already in the diary for 2027: Saturday 28 August – make a note.
Top class burgers and hot dogs from Big Al Johnson, who spent most of the day on the coals, excellent support acts of salads and side dishes courtesy of Lyndsey and Neil Heward, bar staff supremos Dan and Leo who oversaw a prompt service. Thanks, also, to Arielle for her accounting skills!
